Blessing of Planes and Pilots
Friday, Sept. 18
The Catholic Aviation Association and Cupertino Aviation Clubs will present the First Annual Blessing of Planes and Pilots on the Franciscan memorial of St. Joseph of Cupertino (Patron of Aviation). The event will be held at the Westfield Airport.
Light refreshments will be available starting at 11:30 am and the blessing will begin at noon. Fr. Daniel B. Gartland of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel will officiate. For more information, call (317) 815-WING, and leave a message.

Parishioner Spotlight
Hi, My name is Riley Cronin and I just completed my summer internship with the Borgen Project, a Seattle-based non-profit working to fight world poverty. I am inspired and motivated by Pope Francis's encyclical Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
I applied to intern for The Borgen Project because of my passion for sustainability.The Borgen Project believes that, as one of the strongest nations on Earth, we should be doing more to address the global poverty issue. This summer I worked as a PR/Marketing intern, creating a branding campaign, implementing a fundraising strategy, and learning more about US politics with regards to poverty reduction bills.
When looking for a summer position, my personal moral obligation to our earth was a priority. I was fortunate enough to find a position where I got to work towards the first SDG goal: Zero Poverty. This year I am excited to continue to advocate for the world's poor as I begin my Sustainability studies at the University of Dayton.

Bikes for Vets
The 4th Degree K of C collected a total of 162 bicycles this year! All will be refurbished and distributed through St. Vincent de Paul's Bicycles for the Homeless Ministry to veterans and the homeless in Indianapolis.
Food Drive
The quarterly food drive for the Caring Center brought in 2,051 pounds of food for families in Boone County.
