Hallow Prayer Challenge Continues: How to Pray
Our first prayer challenge as a parish focuses on different types of prayer within the Catholic tradition. Daily, you can listen to audio focused around a specific form of prayer.
The challenge runs through May 30. Here's what's coming up:

Parish Giving
Our Food Drive Collected 3,000 Pounds of Food!
Thanks to your help, St. Alphonsus was able to donate more than 3,000 pounds of food valued at $5,700+ to The Caring Center. This will make a big difference for families in Boone County who are facing food insecurity.
We also appreciate everyone who signed up to help collect donations at the truck last week. Thanks for living generously and sharing your time and treasure with others!

The Pentecost "Rose"
The peony is widely known as the Pentecost Rose due to the fact that peonies burst forth into explosive, flame-like blooms in late spring, perfectly aligning with the Feast of Pentecost. Like the explosion of God’s love through His sending of the Holy Spirit, the peony teems with color and vibrant blossoms.
While they are frequently pink, we chose orange for our narthex Pentecost display to align with the color of fire, one of the symbols of the Holy Spirit.
Peonies are the perfect flower for May, the month of Mary. Place them on your home altar or Marian shrine. Perhaps now, every time you see a peony, you will think of the Holy Spirit and thank God for sending Him down upon us!

To help us move toward perpetual adoration by November, a goal that is important to Fr. Travis, please schedule a regular time to adore Jesus so we can fill our current hours. Choose a half-hour or hour, weekly or monthly.

If you have previous choral experience, the SAL Adult Choir needs you! The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7p and provides music for two 10:30a Masses each month, as well as feast days. Sheet music and personalized rehearsal resources are provided. Join the fun practicing, laughing, and praying together – the choir would love to have you!
