4/1/21: Holy Week, Easter, & Farewell
Sign up for Holy Thursday Eucharistic Adoration
Easter Mass Notes:
The parish hall will be open for those who prefer a socially distanced seating option. A Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion will bring the Sacrament to those in the hall.
Masks are required at ALL Masses.
There is NO 5 pm Sunday Mass.
As the pandemic winds down and we become vaccinated, this is an opportunity to come out of our caves and rejoin the parish in person with worship. There is no better image to remind us of this renewal than Jesus rising from the dead.
Psychologists tell us that for those who have been cooped up for the last year because of the virus, even receiving the vaccine does not allay fears of getting sick. Going out into public always involves some risk. Fortitude is the virtue that empowers us to overcome the paralyzing effect of fear. It does not mean that fear disappears, but that we face our fears and do not let them stand in our way.
It took courage for Jesus to embrace his cross and face his death. After the resurrection, his disciples needed courage to proclaim his resurrection in the face of opposition. Returning to in-person Mass is a frightening thing that requires fortitude, especially for those who have been in lockdown during the past year. If you have received your vaccine, I can think of no better time than Holy Week and Easter to begin in person worship.

A Fond Farewell
Lee Barlow...thank you so much for all the years of joy and music you have brought to our parish.
On Easter Sunday, we say goodbye to our Director of Sacred Music. Lee has faithfully served our parish for the last five years, beautifully and dutifully, as an accomplished musician and consummate professional. We are grateful to him for sharing his God-given gifts and talents.
May Christ be with him as he begins a new chapter. And as a wise parishioner duly noted..
."Someone will certainly be getting the best of the best!"
Lee remains our friend, and we bid him a fond farewell.

Just for fun!
What sport did Fr. Travis enjoy playing as a boy?
No, it wasn't football or baseball...Father played hockey - street hockey, not ice hockey.
FYI...the word "hockey" comes from the French word hoquet, meaning "shepherd's stick."
Look for our
trivia questions to return on April 22.
